Jarrett Graduates

On Thursday, August 9th, 2012 Jarrett Ryan Mills graduated from Brigham Young University! The program stated that it was the One Hundred and Thirty-Seventh Summer Commencement Exercises.  Brother Beck gave the commencement address. Jarrett was excited and ready for the great day.

Grandma and Grandpa Butters sacrificed a day at Bear Lake to be with us for Jarrett's Convocation which was held the next day in the Marriott Center. Here we are standing in front of the famous tree near Hinkley Hall where both Grandpa and Jenna lived while attending school.

Jarrett looking with confidence towards the future, while enjoying the accomplishments of today.

We had to wait quite some time before we had out turn in front of this popular picture spot on graduation day.

Here is a quick clip of Jarrett's name being read and him receiving his diploma.

I couldn't help but have many deep thoughts as I sat through Jarrett's graduation. It was somewhat of a deja vu experience. It was difficult to believe that I had sat in these chairs over 30 years earlier and now I had a graduate of my own.  "Time Does Fly on Wings of Lightening!"

Connor already has plans of attending one of the BYU's. Here he is in Jarrett's gown preparing for the moment in real style. I am sure that he will be standing  here sooner than any of us imagine.

With Jenna finishing up her second year in college, I think that we'll be repeating this great day in just a blink of an eye.  It will be exciting to see the great things Jarrett will go on to do. For now, he is living and working in Orem, with plans not a few for the future.  Congratulations Jarrett, we love you!
